To keep the record straight, my portfolio as Professor of "Colombo" University is that of authoring papers pertaining to new energy technologies (a field I suspect Mr. Melville has never even heard of by the way he has journaled his article) as applied to engineering and alternative medicine, for lectures and study throughout these institutions' many hundreds of thousands of visiting academics world-wide. He again cross-examines me how I gained my knighthood - this Doubting Thomas has never seen photographic and video proof of this which, had he taken his time to validate this information I proffered to him, he could have saved himself this self-abasement by coming to my offices and checking it all out himself. He not only insults me but the Open University of Colombo as well as himself.

This is sheer gutter journalism at its worst and what makes it even worse is that it is coming out of a tiny little town of little consequence on the eastern shore of the North Island of New Zealand

In hindsight and from the feedback which keeps coming to me from many I know in this town, I realise now this is a case of entrapment by a newspaper that employs not only a reporter, but an Editor as well, deep in the influence and interests of the local council, and who will stoop to sewer rat tactics to keep a tight lid even tighter on its community in the interests of pure self interest and aggrandisement. It is the lovely folk of this beautiful jewel spot of this town I leave feeling a deep sense of sadness for the horrors of corruption within their midst.

I leave the last words on this to my wife Margaret, who has written:

To mete out this kind of 'filth' to and 82 year old scientist of "proven" international repute, who, as a humanitarian in nature and beliefs and creed, has for the past 35 years worked a constant 12-15 hours 6-7 days a week and achieved incredible advances and recognition in his field, making remarkable original discoveries which have changed the course and value of many orthodox physics teachings world-wide, is nothing short of abominable. Surely it could come only from a piddling little ignorant and arrogant backyard rag like the "Whakatane Beacon".
