I duly obliged Mr. Melville's request by immediately turning up at his office that same day. It was some surprise to me to instantly discover that for some reason or other Mr. Melville didn't as much as refer in any way whatsoever to my "Letter to the Editor". He did not even have a copy of it with him to refer to. Instead he plied me with totally irrelevant questions pertaining to my qualifications, my honours and my recent Knighthood. He also probed into my thoughts and opinions of the fields of science I have been involved with throughout my lifetime. i.e., alternative energy technologies. At no stage during this discussion did he refer to my "Letter to the Editor" nor did he indicate that he would be publishing anything whatsoever that had transpired between us during that discussion of that afternoon. I left his office feeling all was relatively well except for the fact that we had not discussed the "Letter".

Four days later it was to my horror to discover through some friends that there had been an article published by him about myself. This article was full of vitriolic remarks regarding my life's work, qualifications and honoraria.

I attempted to explain to him that recipients of the Knighthood, which I received in Australia via the University of Colombo of Sri Lanka, are first nominated by the Senate and Board of Directors of such Universities, or other academic institutions. These nominations are then passed on to the United States Licensing Approval Authority for certification. I point out now that the open University of Colombo is recognised by the United Nations Charter for the University of Peace by the United General Assembly Resolution number 35/55/5XII/1980.

In addition in this article, there unfolded a raft of fantasies, which, according to his own imagination, decried the application of my technologies to certain areas. One particular reference, i.e. that to "motor vehicles" as a prime example of this mans befuddled mentality. No such statement as he has written in his article was ever uttered by me, as I made it clear to him the very reasons as to exactly why the automotive industry would not be included in my work. The fact of the matter is that I have never advocated the application of my technologies to that of "Motor Vehicles". Over the years I have had dozens of motor racing magnates of Australia and U.S.A. approach me offering large sums of money to apply my technologies to their racing machines, every time I have had to refuse - there would have been no quicker way to have committed suicide.

Before I go any further, hereunder is a replica of this article published by Melville:

Progressive chance disappears into aether?
by Keith Melville

Make up your own mind on this one but please, please don't shoot the messenger.

Undoubtedly this is a bizarre story because it is the story of a man who claims to have knowledge of limitless energy, energy from space known as aether energy. Professor Robert Adams says he has harnessed aether energy in a machine.

Bizarre? Yes very much so because in a world reliant on dwindling fossil fuels, no-one in the mainstream scientific fraternity here and worldwide, wants to know Professor Robert Adams of Whakatane, or about his machine.

Some might say Professor Adams is a genius (though I must admit I have never spoken to anyone who says he is) while others might use a less polite term. I must admit I have heard the knockers and having not seen aether energy machine in action, I remain sceptical and I have told him so, though I keep an open mind on it.

But vivid imagination or otherwise Professor Adams or more correctly, at least according to him, Prof. Dr. Sir Robert Adams Ph.D., has indeed an interesting story to tell even though at this stage I have been unable to independently verify his it. [sic]

For starters ask Professor Adams where he got his Ph.D.. The reply is the Columbia Open University in Sri Lanka.
