Mr Christie said the average home with a pool needed only 14kW of energy per day - which meant a 10kW daily excess would be left over during the generation process.

Griffith Hack partner Cliff Carew, who was speaking from Brisbane, confirmed the device was genuine and unique.

"An international application has been lodged, they've conducted an international search and haven't come up with anything similar, so it would seem to be a new concept," Mr Carew said.

He said it would be another two and a half years before the patent was recognised in 140 countries around the world - the usual length of time for an international patent to be processed." "

This publication has been faxed, mailed and emailed to me from all parts of the globe from friends, colleagues, non-colleagues and people of whom I have never even heard of before, some with written commentary, some with attached notes and others with mere two or three line comments. I had a large cardboard carton crammed to the hilt with copies of this article, which I tossed into the wheelie bin recently I am still getting phone calls and emails and I am somewhat earbashed of people demanding that I do something about it. Of, course they mean well and I guess they are quite right - the only way to stop this is to take some action. I do hope, however, by doing this, I put some closure on the matter because I am not going to enter into any kind of resultant diatribe as a result of the possibility of drawing fire. At my age I just simply cannot be bothered.

Having said that, I have retained and studied the messages I have received from the many (mentioned above) and have decided to put up the appropriate reciprocity to the issue and I hope my champions will be happy that I have done according to their wishes. I must admit, I find their earnest goadings make good sense anyway and deserve at least some of my serious attention.

And so to the subject of this narrative - that of these two "Inventors" by the names of Mr. John Christie and Mr. Ludwig (Lou) Brits and their claims. These two gentleman have founded an Australian Pty. Ltd., called 'Lutec", the Business Plan of which some good time ago now fell discreetly into my hands. I made a point of briefly looking it over, and threw it onto my secretary's desk to file or throw away as she chose. My secretary is wise at times. She filed it. I have since forth asked her for it several times, in fact each time I received a message of outrage from somebody I found myself drawn to some aspect of it or other, just in order to study implications, etc, etc. The time has now come to address this issue of these people's "INVENTION", and I will address this issue in two parts.
